New to the Hunt? Don’t worry, we’ve got you.
This page breaks down everything first-time players need to know: how the Hunt works, what kinds of challenges to expect, how to earn points, and how to stay on track throughout the event. You’ll find all the basics right here to help you start strong and have a great time.
Husky hunt has many components, all of which are important to your team’s success. While we don’t release how any of these categories are scored, it is tough to win without dedicating effort to each category. The categories are described below:
Clues + Crawls
- Clues are a list of riddles to OUTDOOR locations around Boston
- Crawls are special clue lists where all locations share a theme
Crafts
- Each team will be given lists of crafts to complete
- The crafts can be made from any physical material, and you get bonus points for creativity!
Challenges
- A directed task you must complete, occurring throughout the Hunt
- They pop up all around (and occasionally off) campus at random times, and you’ll receive a Remind message whenever they occur
- Challenges can vary in capacity and team member requirements, so be sure to get there as fast as you can to ensure your spot!
Social Media Challenges
- Create a team Instagram account!
- Challenges will be sent through Remind with instructions for what to post
- All submissions must use the appropriate hashtag and tag @rsahuskyhunt
Video Challenges
- You will be given a list of video prompts
- These challenges are graded based on participation, performance, and creativity, so try to make them entertaining!
Overarching Challenge
- Sometimes, there is an overarching challenge that takes place during the entire hunt
- This challenge relates to the theme and storyline of the hunt and can be done on your own time
Outposts
- Shops where you can use your Hunt currency
- You can buy a variety of items here, some of which can help you with the Hunt
The Hunt is designed to reward creativity, teamwork, and adaptability, so that no single category will carry you to victory on its own. The more you engage with each part, the better your chances. Stay alert, stay curious, and most importantly, have fun!
